Description
StarT is a private institute dedicated to the development of strategic solutions for the space sector, operating from requirements definition and product conception to the implementation of systems and services for Launch Complexes and Orbital Monitoring and Tracking Centers. With a multidisciplinary team, it fosters innovation through efficiency and seeks to strengthen the integration of the triple helix, creating a collaborative ecosystem that drives the advancement of the space economy.
In addition to strategic solutions, StarT develops products, services, training programs, and specialization initiatives, exploring emerging fields such as space agriculture and mining, interplanetary tourism and transportation, satellite services, extraterrestrial colonization and infrastructure development, the production of biological artifacts and tissues in off-Earth environments, as well as legal, defense, and terrestrial support applications enabled by space systems.
Its mission is to provide concepts, technologies, and professional training that enable companies, institutions, and individuals to operate competitively, innovatively, and sustainably, strengthening Brazil's position and that of its international partners in the global space sector.
StarT also develops solutions for space environment monitoring and management, with applications in Space Situational Awareness (SSA), Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST), Space Domain Awareness (SDA), and Space Traffic Management (STM), including the detection, tracking, and cataloging of objects in orbit, collision risk assessment, and operational support for the safe management of satellites.
As the proponent of the Maricá Space Complex Project, StarT prepared the Technical and Operational Feasibility Study, evaluating requirements, operational capacity, systems integration, logistics, and safety, ensuring efficiency and sustainability throughout all phases of the project.
It is an affiliated member of the University of Brasília (UnB) Science and Technology Park.
