Telespazio, a joint venture between Leonardo and Thales with a 67:33 shareholding structure, is one of the world’s leading space services operators. Its activities range from the design and development of space systems to the management of launch services and in-orbit satellite control; from Earth observation, integrated communications, satellite navigation and positioning to scientific programs. The company plays a leading role in its reference markets, supported by its infrastructure and by the technological expertise acquired over more than 60 years of operations, including participation in space programs such as Galileo, EGNOS, Copernicus, COSMO-SkyMed and Moonlight. Telespazio has been present in Brazil since 1997 through its subsidiary Telespazio Brasil, headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, operating in ground systems operations, engineering and deployment, Earth observation and satellite telecommunications, and managing the satellite teleport facilities in Itaboraí and Maricá.
